My health journey started about 7 years ago when I woke up one morning with extreme back pain. I went to numerous doctors and specialists and wasn’t getting better so they put me on many different medications and tried multiple therapies. I hated my job, I hated my body, I hated my mind, even my marriage was up and down. Needless to say that point of my life was on a downward spiral. I finally just accepted after 2 years that I was going to be like this forever, I had given up.
Fast-forward 2 yrs. later and I'm a very stressed out mom. After suffering a stillborn a year earlier I'm freaking out that I could lose my daughter now too. I've always been a bit of an anxious person but now its through the roof. I ended up working out a lot and lost the 45 lbs. of baby weight that I gained. Then slowly but surely the weight started to creep back on. Only now I have many other stressors in my life and food helped me feel comfort. I put 17 lbs. back on and I was miserable. I was so upset and mad at my body! I was tired of feeling like crap, I was tired of always "trying" to lose weight and not feeling comfortable in my own body. I was determined to figure out how to stop this yo-yo up and down dieting for good! I started going to my own health coach to see what I was doing wrong and what I was missing. Together we decided that I should go back to the beginning and try REAL foods. No gimmicks, no quick fix diets, no fat free junk! I stopped eating processed foods, dairy and gluten (which I ate 2 string cheeses a day and a sandwich and piece of toast everyday.) I noticed a difference almost immediately! My brain fog was gone, I had more energy, less cravings I also have a genetic disease that affects my balance and that even got better! I was hooked on health!
I decided to take this journey even further because now I wanted to share my information with the world. I want to help others find what motivates them to be better. So I started school at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. There I learned that everyone has his or her own Bio-Individuality, which means one persons food can be another person’s poison. I also learned that so many different factors can affect your happiness and sucess in life. Its not just about the food you put in your body, its also about what you do to be fullfilled in life. Once you can find balance in your Career, Relationships, Spirituality, Diet and Exercise you can truly live an enriched life! I can say I walk my talk and have experienced this firsthand! I have never been happier and felt more fullfilled than I do now.
